Sharjah, 29 November 2015: On the occasion of the 44th National Day of United Arab Emirates, Sharjah International Airport organized yesterday (Sunday) a number of different activities at the Airport Management’s main building.The ceremony was attended by H.E. Sheikh Khaled Bin Essam Al Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation- Sharjah, H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, in the presence of officials, heads and staff of departments and sections.The ceremony at the Airport Management’s main building which was decorated with flags and beautiful heritage touches, included several items like: Light show of the history of the UAE, exhibition for Military Force, poetry, folklore performances, Arabic hospitality zone and other national events.On this occasion H.E. Sheikh Khaled Bin Essam Al Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation- Sharjah expressed heartfelt congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and to the Highnesses, Rulers of the Emirates and to the people of the UAE.He pointed out that the commemoration of the Union on the second of December, helps remember and highlight the great achievements of over 44 years.He added:” We always on this occasion remember the founder and builder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who established the state on a base that full of Nationalism, loving, giving and sincere will, therefore its name is linked to the great achievements, humanitarian and unlimited giving”.H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “The 2 of December reflects the love of the UAE people to the nation and their determination to carry on the development process to the future. The National Day celebrations also reflect the unity among UAE nationals and their loyalty to our wise leadership who seeks to further cement our distinguished and prominent place on both regional and global levels,”He added: “Today we are enlightened with a vision of our leaders under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and Their Highnesses, the Rulers of the Emirates.”He pointed out that Sharjah International Airport celebrates this occasion every year, with various activities creating a ceremonial atmosphere of joy, and happiness permeates across the airport, with its building gaily decorated and flags flying in its courtyards.He pointed out that in this year the occasion comes accompanied with other national events, where for the first, there will be a commemoration Day on 30th November, which has been designated as a day to remember the sacrifices of our brave soldiers and to support our brothers everywhere, especially in Yemen.On the other hand, Sharjah International Airport is going to organize on 30th Nov some events on the occasion of the Commemoration Day at the airport management’s main building, It will include a minute’s silence as mark of respect to our brave martyrs and then hoisting of UAE flag accompanied by the National Anthem.Commemoration Day is a national day in which the United Arab Emirates expresses its appreciation for the sacrifices of the martyrs and their brave standing, supporting their families, showing pride in the good leadership and commemorate the sacrifices.The UAE 44th National Day celebrations this year revolve around the theme, ‘Spirit of the Union’, which reflects the concept of unity which links the country under one flag. The logo is based on the vision of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and has taken forward by the sagacious leadership of today.
