Sharjah, August 26, 2015: Sharjah Airport Authority Chairman H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa met with H.E. Mrs. Beth Smith, Acting US Consul General, yesterday, to discuss mutual interests and ways to strengthen business relations between the two parties. The meeting discussed future plans of the Airport and various means of boosting the cooperation and exchange of expertise between Sharjah International Airport and the US firms operating in aviation and freight sectors. H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa mentioned that both countries have developed stronger economic ties in recent years, in which both experienced tremendous growth in trade and investments. H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa briefed the US Consul General on the master study plan to develop the Airport in near future, the opportunities, the services, facilities and business environment. In addition, the Freight Center, which efficiently offers a range of facilities and services to its valued clients as per international standards, suits many of the US companies to consider it as a platform for launching their businesses in the region without any hassle.”H.E. Mrs. Beth Smith, Acting US Consul General expressed her thanks to the management for the warm welcome and for the hospitality and said: “UAE is one of the largest trade partners of the US and we look forward to expanding our economic relationship for the benefit of both countries.”She added:”Sharjah has a keylocation in the region and attracts many US companies who are seeking to enhance their business opportunities and look for a strong foothold from which to promote distribution in the Middle East.
