Sharjah, 19 June, 2016: Sharjah Airport Authority is participated for the first time in Air Cargo China 2016, taking place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 14-16 June.The event is a platform to meet with the air cargo experts and decision makers, including international airports, freight forwarders from all over the world. It is also a chance to exchange views on the latest developments of this industry.HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, stated “The event is the ideal platform to showcase the services and facilities provided by the freight centre which meets the expectations and requirements of the international freight agents including modern technology solutions that have been developed and introduced, such as e-Clearance cargo portal, e-service and transporting the shipments across the country’s airports, which is the latest service provided by Sharjah International Airport and the Freight Centre”.HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, stated : “The Asian market continues to be very important for Sharjah International Airport and our participation reaffirms our commitment to the region. Over the last years, Sharjah International Airport has built excellent relationships with Asian shippers.”Mr. Donald D’Souza, Director Commercial, Mr. Gonzalo Jacob, Sharjah Aviation Services Head of Cargo and Mr. Jeremy Mitchell, Service Assurance Manager represented the airport at this event.Sharjah International Airport has five cargo terminals with a total floor area of 32,000 square meters seen as the region’s leading cargo hub served by dedicated cargo aircraft parking positions equipped to handle up to 16 aircraft of different types.It is worth to mention that the 2014 edition saw 66 exhibitors from 28 countries, 16,800 visitors from 69 countries and regions biggest ever Air Cargo China conference with approx. 200 top-level participants.
