Sharjah, 13 Feb, 2017: In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign affairs and International Corporation, Sharjah International Airport held a seminar to introduce some of the services provided by the Ministry. These services include Twajudi and Emirati Emergency Passport.
The seminar stressed on the importance of registering with the Ministry’s Twajudi services (My Whereabouts) for citizens travelling abroad, to facilitate communication processes between the country’s missions abroad and registered citizens. This is mainly for their protection in crisis and emergency situations.
It also shed light on the Emirati Emergency Passport which is for those citizens who have lost their original passports outside the country and for those who lost their identity cards within the GCC countries.
H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said:” It is very important to know more about these services, especially among Emiratis, these services will keep them connected with the country’s missions abroad, and get the required support and assistance once they need it”.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation office in Sharjah, extended his thanks and appreciation to H.E Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah International Airport Authority, and H.E Sheikh Faisal Bin Saud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority for the outstanding organization and reception. He also thanked all those working in the authority. Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Shamsi stressed that these advanced services are in line with the directives of the wise leadership in the country. He also mentioned that H.H Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign and International Cooperation Minister, is personally following up on this matter.
The UAE’s passport is considered one of the strongest passports globally, where it is ranked first among Arab and Middle Eastern Countries. UAE passport holders can visit 116 countries without a visa. Therefore, the Ministry seeks to ensure the care for citizens abroad and provide high quality of consular services, achieved via the consular departments and branch offices.
